At my elementary school we did a College Day instead of a Career Day this year. Next year, I plan on hosting a Career Day. I will continue to switch back and forth every year. Here are a few things we did to get our students to start thinking about college.
- College Day Apparel - The teachers wore t-shirts that represented their alma-mater. The students were allowed to wear any apparel from a college. They wore clothes representing their parent's college, their favorite college sport team, or a college they were interested in attending. The students loved dressing-up. Of course, they love any day without uniforms! :)
- College Day Pep Rally - The students entered the gym with different fight songs playing over the speakers. After doing the wave and cheering for their college, I had our Vice President/Athletic Director talk to them about his experience playing a sport in college. I had 8 seniors come answer questions about the college they are planning on attending. We had all the following colleges represented by our seniors.

- College Bulletin Board - The teachers submitted college pictures and college bios that were put on a bulletin board for the students to see. The students LOVED this!
